Techniques Used

Acupuncture

Practiced by a certified acupuncturist using fine, sterile needles, acupuncture is a low-risk treatment for wellness, fertilityreproductive health, and a multitude of common conditions. From a Western perspective, acupuncture stimulates your body’s nerves, connective tissue, and muscles. From the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture activates Qi (energy) at points along each person’s Meridians, enabling the body to rebalance itself. Bringing our Brooklyn community acupuncture gives us joy like no other!

Chinese Herbs

The foundational formulas of Traditional Chinese Medicine date back thousands of years. Over millennia, Chinese herbology has been practiced and documented—it is one of the most widely researched forms of herbal medicine. Still commonly used in Chinese hospitals, herbs are prepared in combinations to establish balance in the body. When prescribed by a certified practitioner, herbs can be a safe and effective alternative or supplement to pharmaceuticals.

Nutrition, Lifestyle & Environment - counseling & monitoring

Beyond standard dietary advice, foods contain various properties and are classified in a way to be used as medicine. What, how, and when you eat & drink, play a role in your overall treatment and health. In addition to diet, your emotions, daily habits, and surroundings also greatly contribute to your overall health. Often all aspects are addressed in Whole Systems Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat the Whole person. Body, mind, spirit, and nature.

Tui Na

Tui Na (pronounced "twee nah") translates to "push and grasp" and is a therapeutic form of massage that involves rhythmic compression along energy channels of the body, also known as meridians, as well as a variety of manipulative techniques. It aims to balance the body's vital energy, or Qi, and remove blockages that can cause discomfort and illness.

As a recommended prenatal massage, our practitioners avoid certain pressure points known to stimulate contractions, focusing instead on soothing techniques that support the mother's body through each stage of pregnancy. This careful approach not only eases physical discomfort but also prepares the body for labor and delivery, contributing to a smoother birthing process.

Heat Therapy

Heat therapy combines gentle heat and minerals to stimulate deep muscle relaxation and increase circulation. We use a Bio-Mat on our treatment tables and TDP therapeutic lamps, which generate electromagnetic wavelengths of infrared energy. This mineral heat lamp has been shown in clinical studies to reduce inflammation and edema from soft tissue injuries such as strains and sprains. TDP lamps are also known to improve blood circulation, relax the nervous system, and even treat your skin without any harmful side effects. The lamps contain a ceramic, mineral-coated disc that, when heated, allows the body to absorb heat through deep layers of tissue. Used in conjunction with acupuncture and herbology, TDP is an effective treatment for pain, wellness, and many other conditions.

Cupping & Gua Sha

Cupping and Gua Sha are methods of applying acupressure by creating a vacuum or friction on your skin to remove blockages within the meridians (i.e. inflammation), thereby improving Qi flow—to treat respiratory diseases such as the common cold, pneumonia, and bronchitis. It is also used on the body to treat muscular spasms and pain.

Electric Stimulation

E-Stim is the use of mild electric stimulation therapy during your treatment. It is commonly used in pain therapy, weight loss, and smoking cessation to offer a faster recovery time.

Electro-acupuncture

Electro-acupuncture is the addition of a small electric current that is passed through the acupuncture needles for increased stimulation. The patient typically does not feel any discomfort. This treatment is appropriate for decreasing pain, reducing inflammation, and accelerating tissue healing. Electro-acupuncture is also referred to as Electric Stimulation or E-Stim.

Ozone Sauna Therapy

Ozone therapy uses a specialized sauna to hyper-oxygenate the body from the neck down. It’s a non-invasive, pain-free way to improve fertility, strengthen the immune system, combat viruses and bacteria, and improve circulation. It has been tested and used for both female and male fertility, skin disorders, joint problems, inflammatory illnesses, and more. Check out the best ozone sauna therapy NYC has!
